Mainline Services, an established railroad construction company, is seeking experienced Heavy Haul Low Boy CDL Class A Drivers to grow our expanding team. This experienced driver is responsible for hauling equipment to and from locations across the U.S.  

Qualifications:

• Experience in heavy haul driving, loading/unloading heavy equipment to include backhoe, bulldozer, excavator, front-end loader, skid steer, grapple trucks, and a selection of specialty railroad equipment/attachments
• Must possess a valid CDL Class A Driver’s License with a good driving record
• Knowledge and familiarity of Federal and State DOT regulations including oversize/overweight loads.
• Perform light duty mechanical repairs (hoses, fittings, wiring, fuses, etc.)
• Capable of understanding and following directions
• Enjoy working outdoors in all weather conditions performing construction related tasks
• Display strong adherence to safety policies and procedures
• Able to read, write and speak English
• Requires lifting approximately 75-100 lbs. to perform job duties
• Must pass qualification tests as required (E-Rail Safe, Background, Drug Test and other training/safety programs)
• 24/7 availability to respond to emergency calls for service including weekends and holidays

Job Duties:

• Ensures that all activities are carried out in a safe, effective, professional, and efficient manner to protect employees and the assets.
• Operates equipment in conformance with standard operational policies/procedures while following all safety rules/regulations.
• Continuously monitors equipment/vehicles to minimize down time and to ensure operational readiness.
• Perform and document minor service on equipment/vehicles, referring more complicated mechanical issues to Fleet Manager for repair.
• Flexible/work-ready to perform tasks for other departments/divisions as may be required to meet business needs and customer expectations.
• Working extended hours.
• Must be able to travel in the region frequently, with some out-of-town jobs that require multiple nights on the road.
• Performs pre-trip and post-trip inspection of trucks, trailers, and equipment in accordance with company policy and D.O.T. regulations.
• Drives tractor-trailer to/from job sites, inspects loads, and machinery being transported.
• Verifies transportation permits to ensure that specifications for overweight and oversize loads/equipment are accurate.
• Responsible for loading, unloading and safe transportation of equipment and/or materials to/from job site, operation of equipment at job site (if qualified) and providing assistance in the rerailing divisions and/or the track maintenance/repair/new builds divisions.

Physical Requirements:

• Must have ability to work at heights, as well as climbing stairs, and work in hot or cold environments
• Work outdoors in a noisy, safety sensitive environment
• Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time
